This Random Act of Grace was constructed on the recent Craft Art Prayer retreat with which I was privileged to assist. It is actually quite small and I am grateful for this photo taken by the recipient 🙂 Technically, I suppose it is the very first R.A.G. I’ve given away, though I didn’t think I’d be able to get a picture of it at all. (Technically, this does take that status away from the Swallow Box, but oh well, whose really keeping track?)
It is a cylindrical metal box with clear lid. I used archival scrapbooking paper for the outside and under the clear lid, which also reveals a small gold celtic-style cross. The ribbon around the outside came from somewhere or another, though I am not certain where. I’d squirreled it away in a box years ago and had never had the right moment to use it till now. The feet for the box and decorative glass piece on the front–designed to emphasize the word Beautiful–are the semi flat glass balls used in floral arranging, etc. They are adhered to the container via sparkle hot glue which, though sometimes is very out of place, really adds to the overall feel of the box. Inside there are two simple black and clear flower stickers at the bottom.
This is a prayer box and it goes to its new owner with prayers for them to see the beauty they possess as clearly as they see it in others.
You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring you down
Don’t you bring me down today
